Ancient Egyptian inlay fragment from Baqaria Armant

Copper alloy rim for an inlay right eye. Made as one piece, it is roughly oval in shape, peaking at the tearduct and the opposite side of the eye. The metal seems to have been treated or cleaned at some stage and is now a dull gold colour. On the inside edge there has been cut a small circular pit. This appears to be modern, judging by the fine concentric circles cut into the surface. Over this pit has been written the site number, though this is now worn, see notes below.
