Ancient Egyptian jar from Diospolis Parva dated 1773 – 1550 BC

Small black stone, perhaps basalt, ointment jar. Rises from a circular slightly projecting base, to broad shoulders, and then narrows to the rim. Rim consists of a slight lip on the circular mouth of the vessel. Few surface scratches. Faint X in black ink on the base.
