Ancient Egyptian kohl pot from Diospolis Parva dated 1773 – 1550 BC

Alabaster kohl pot, with distinctive white bands in the honey coloured calcite. It rises to the shoulder, from a projecting circular base, and then narrows below the rim. The rim has a convex exterior curve to it, as it rises from the neck, and a broad circular top. Small chip to rim and base, and the remains of black powder in the interior. A fine example.
