Ancient Egyptian kohl pot from Diospolis Parva dated 1985 – 1650 BC

Egyptian alabaster Kohl pot, with faint white bands in the honey coloured calcite. It rises to the shoulder, from a projecting circular base, and then narrows below the rim. The rim has a convex exterior curve to it, as it rises away from neck, and a broad circular top. Small chips to rim and base, and the remains of black powder in the interior. Traces of modern glue on the base.
