Ancient Egyptian kohl pot from Qaw el Kibir dated 2055 – 1550 BC

Small bulbous kohl pot with circular flat base and squat body. With cirular flat lower lid with slight lip on underside which fits into body of pot, with hole drilled in centre to insert kohl stick. Also upper lid, solid, to cover pot when not in use. Conatins remnants of black powder, probably galena. Finely made.
