Ancient Egyptian kohl pot lid from Qaw el Kibir dated 2055 – 1550 BC

Inner lid from a small bulbous kohl pot with circular flat base and squat body. Cirular flat inner lid with slight lip on underside which fits into body of pot, with hole drilled in centre to insert kohl stick. Remnants of black powder, probably galena, on surface. Finely made.
