Ancient Egyptian linen fragment from Amarna dated 1550 – 1069 BC

Fragment of ecru linen, finely woven with four rectangles joined at one corner to create a diagonal design, worked in a thicker thread. A similar straight line is worked beneath. There are sixteen warps and thirty wefts per centimetre.
