Ancient Egyptian linen fragment from Amarna dated 1550 – 1295 BC

Piece of coarsely woven linen cloth, with two seams running across it. Both raw edges are turned within the seam and slip stitched along each folded edge in thick linen thread. There are seven warps per centimetre and 82 wefts per centimetre. Several tears and holes in it. Flattened out here and mounted under glass.
