Ancient Egyptian linen fragment from Hawara dated AD 395 – 642

A linen fragment with a woven band in purple wool with a tiny cream linen embroidered edge design and a repeating heart design is outlined in linen threads.
Plain woven linen ground with fine woven purple wool, the warps form pairs. The embroidery is very fine, natural coloured linen. The stitches are worked on the front side only.
