Plain woven linen with loops on the face side only. Described on an old label as being a Turkish towel. One part of a fragment cut in two.
There are 13 rows of plain weave between each row of loops. There are six double thread warps and eight wefts per centimetre. Each loop is three centimetres long, formed on alternate warps with threads.
