Ancient Egyptian linen fragment from Matmar dated 2890 – 2686 BC

Fragment of cloth, coarse but well woven fabric, similar to Predynastic types. Warps doubled, weft with few exceptions single yarns. Rotten, structure well preserved. Colour very dark brown. Fibre, like type B, but closely jointed.
