Ancient Egyptian linen fragment from Mostagedda dated 1773 – 1550 BC

A fragment of linen with a very regular weave of well spun hard twisted and mostly doubled yarns. Very well preserved but fragile. The fabric has the texture of many of the Badarian weaves. Fibre type A, but dark, perfectly separated, the best prepared yarn of this type seen.
