Ancient Egyptian metal fragment from Tell Dafana

Irregular piece of corroded iron. With a criss cross line impression on both sides, and the remains of tiny circular depressions or holes. Perhaps strips of metal fixed together and now corroded to give this effect.
Old Index card states that the object is from scale armour.
