Ancient Egyptian oil lamp from Hierakleopolis dated 30 BC – AD 395

Small brown and orange pottery oil lamp, with round reservoir, and projecting spout. Central hole in reservoir, with a slight depression around it, and two straight incised lines that flare out over the spout, to form a triangular shape, with this hole the apex. There is also a hole in the tip of the spout, with an incised line curving round the inside edge. Blackening to spout. On the base, in modern black ink is written ..E..90.. EEF 1904.
