Ancient Egyptian oil lamp from Hierakleopolis dated 30 BC – AD 395

Pottery oil lamp, with a, possibly, black slip to the upper half. Round reservoir, with central hole, and raised circular band around this. Projecting spout with hole at tip, and a raised rim. Slight raised bump on the neck of the spout. Projecting lug on the lamp’s right hand side, with a hole through it. Ring base. In modern ink it says EEF 1904. Bottom of lamp is the orange colour of the base pottery.
