Ancient Egyptian oil lamp from Naukratis dated 30 BC – AD 395

Brown and black pottery oil lamp, with a round reservoir and projecting spout that flares at the tip. There is a central hole in the top of the reservoir, surrounded by a circular depression. The spout has two lines faintly incised along it, but the lamp appears to be largely undecorated. Blackening on part of the tip. Has a depressed disc shape in the base. Naukratis was written in modern black ink on the base, though copied over later. There are traces of modern glue and paper on the base.
