Ancient Egyptian oil lamp from Naukratis dated 30 BC – AD 395

Red pottery oil lamp, shouldered, with a round reservoir. The shoulders have a heart shaped motif on them. The reservoir has a central hole in the top with a concentric ring modelled around it, and an incised wreath motif around that. The spout flares out at the tip. Blackening on part of the tip. Has a raised disc shaped base. Naukratis is written in modern black ink on the base. There are traces of modern glue on the base.
