Ancient Egyptian pen from Faiyum dated 332 BC – AD 395

Length of reed , probably papyrus, cylindrical in shape. Cut off flat at the bottom, and cut diagonally at the other end, forming a point. Ink stains visible on the point/nib. Two holes have been put through the bottom end of the pen, in the twentieth perhaps to enable display? The pen is dry, and there are four cracks running along the body of the pen. The top of the nib is also frayed.
Colour: brown
