Ancient Egyptian pottery head dated 332 – 30 BC

Buff pottery head and neck of a cockerel which would have been attached to the neck of a plastic style jar. Yellow surface slip. Crest on head, protruding eyes, wattles and beak. Decorated with painted brown lines on neck, crest and around eyes. Hole in end of beak, neck hollow, possibly forming a spout.
