Ancient Egyptian rim sherd from Tell Dafana

Rim sherd from a pottery plate. Edge of plate has an orange and red decorated border of rectangular shapes on a cream ground, which is separated from the centre of the plate by a ridge in the pottery which has been painted with a red band, followed an orange band. The rim appears to have had an intentional square notch cut out of it, but only one side of this survives on the edge of the sherd. The edge of the plate’s centre has the head of a stylised lotus flower in red orange on a cream ground. The back of the sherd has an orange ground with broad black lines at regular intervals, curving around the plate. The edge of the rim is also painted black.
