Ancient Egyptian scarab from Diospolis Parva dated 1550 – 1295 BC Carnelian scarab, with a plain base, and a hole drilled length wise for suspension. Incised elytra, pronotum and perhaps clypeus. Two lines incised along each side may be to indicate legs.
