Ancient Egyptian scarab from Qaw el kibir dated 1773 – 1550 BC

A steatite scarab with a hole through the length. The base has an incised design divided into three by two double bar lines. At the top is stylised lotus plant; in the centre are lucky signs; at the bottom there is a pillar in centre with a red crown on either side. The head, clypeus and plates are shown, as well as the division between prothorax and elytra marked by nicks on sides. Legs slightly raised and undercut.
