Ancient Egyptian shoe from Antinoe dated AD 395 – 642

Small leather slipper or shoe. Sole and most of the front of the front of the shoe are present. Leather is very dry and brittle. Front of the shoe, came up high over the foot, rising to a peak in the centre. Stitching remains visible around the sole, the heel was reinforced by a double piece of leather.
