Ancient Egyptian shoe from Qarara dated AD 395 – 641

Leather slipper or shoe, from the right foot. The upper seems to be made from a single piece of leather, which is stitched together at the back of the shoe. There is a high front to the shoe, which peaks into a point in the centre, and high sides. the central peak is a circular boss shaped like a coiled circle. There are a few pieces of loose leather with the shoe, and the leather in general is dry and powdery.
