Ancient Egyptian stone fragment from Deir el Bahari dated 2055 – 1985 BC

Square edge of a sandstone gaming board or table. Marked with incised lines on the upper surface is the end of a grid. Three squares are visible, with the edge of a further three next to them. This appears to have been the intentional width. There are two holes drilled into the base, for a twentieth century display mount.
