Ancient Egyptian stone fragment from Hieracleopolis dated 30 BC – AD 642

Rectangular shaped limestone fragment, with carved decoration on one side, and part of another adjoining side. Acanthus leaves curve in from both sides, based on a raised straight line, and meeting near to a diamond shape at the top. Similar to a capital, possibly part of the corner of a cornice, as the decortation curves around the corner of the piece.
