Ancient Egyptian tapestry panel from Oxyrhynchus dated AD 300 – 800

Tapestry woven band in coloured wools and undyed flax thread. Figures and fish swimming on a green ground among water plants, a narrow yellow border has a running wave edge. The band is attached to a piece of dark brown woollen fabric. (Midgley notes)
