Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Faiyum dated AD 395 – 642

Linen, plain woven, with wide band decorated in tapestry woven with detached spots and heart shaped motifs in red, blue, green and yellow wool. The tapestry is woven in spots of wool of the same colour as central spots. There are approximately 20 warps and wefts per centimetre. Two warps are woven together to form one within these areas.
