Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Faiyum dated AD 395 – 642

Linen cloth, two fragments stitched together, faced with long loops of wool. The wool yarn is inserted at intervals as a doubled strand, after the linen cloth was woven.
Ground weave. Two pieces joined of similar count. Plain weave. There are 1 to 17 warps and 22 wefts per centimetre and 2 to18 warps and 18 wefts per centimetre.
