Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Faiyum dated AD 395 – 642

Fragment of woollen cloth with complex selvedge along one edge. Tapestry woven bands of purple wool and natural colour flax, floral designs let into the cloth. There are ten warps per centimetre.
