Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Hawara dated AD 395 – 642

A fragment of a woven band. Blue wool woven ground with two ply blue woollen warp threads. There are red dyed two ploy warps woven into the outer edges to form stripes. There is a linen woven repeating geometric design of diamonds and other patterns. The design is sewn over the stripes too. The designs have long floats on the reverse side. Triple threads.
There are 12 warp threads and nien to ten weft threads per centimetre.
