Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Karanis dated 30 BC – AD 395

Border of roundel tapestry woven in beige flax and coloured wools (mainly green, red, brown and black). Much of the wool has perished leaving double warps of flax, on which the pattern was worked, visible. Seem to be vegetal or geometric patterns (interlacing).
