Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Karanis dated 30 BC – AD 395

Thick plait of flax thread with closely plaited pendants about 37mm long at regular intervals. To the ends of these pendants are, or have been, attached oval tassels of felted red wool.
Colour: brown.
