Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Karanis dated 30 BC – AD 395

A fragment of a coarse fabric, a mixture of hair and fibre, not flax. The weft is hair. Most of the warp is of an indeterminate vegetable fibre. The cross section was made by Fletters and Garnett.
