Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Oxyrhynchus dated AD 395 – 642

A square linen panel, tapestry woven in dark purple wool. Much of the wool has perished. There is a central circular compartment and four ovals whose margins intersect the border of the centre. Each space is occupied by a winged figure. The ground is finely lined in purple.
There are 11 warps per centimetre with two threads per warp.
