Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Oxyrhynchus dated AD 395 – 642

A linen cloth with two bands in tapestry weave, dark purple wool and undyed flax. The band is divided into panels, warriors with shields alternating with animal forms. The border is a running wave design.
The tapestry is two sections joined together. There are ten warps per centimetre and two threads per warp.
