Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Oxyrhynchus dated AD 395 – 642

Linen, with a narrow band woven in dark green and brown silk. One end is embroidered in crimson and green silk.
Plain weave and embroidery worked over a striped woven design. The stitch is a plait stitch. There are 14 warps per centimetre. Finely woven weft.
