Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Oxyrhynchus dated AD 395 – 642

A fragment of fine linen, embroidered, two bands of a rectangular design in brown bordered by blue lines. Most of the brown silk has perished.
Plain weave with embroidered design. The design forms a plait on the face side and back stitch on reverse. There are 21 warps and wefts per centimetre.
