Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Oxyrhynchus dated AD 395 – 642

A linen band, tapestry woven in purple wool, with three compartments formed by a wavy floral stem occupied by a couchant calf, a lion and the lower part of a human figure. The ground is finely worked with floral sprays. Crested border.
Tapestry and embroidery. There are 13 warps per centimetre. Each warp is composed of two threads.
