Ancient Egyptian textile fragment from Tanis San el Hagar dated AD 395 – 642

Tapestry woven border, in coloured wools and undyed flax, on flax warp. On a red ground are floral designs in red, yellow, and green wool. The border is of broad wavy bars in green, red and yellow wool and undyed flax.

Tapestry. 11 warps per cm. Tightly Z twist flax.
