Wooden model of a tall jar. Flat circular top is painted white, with a black corss on it. The sides are painted red, and the vase overall has a protruding rim, and a narrow cylindrical neck that broadens out to the shoulders and then tapers back into the base. Acquired with other model vats and jars (see 1907.90.3 items) The shallow vat probably represents the container for the fermenting bread mixture known as mash. The tall cylindrical vat would have been used to strain the mash, leaving the liquid beer to be transferred into the tall, shouldered jars.
