Ancient Egyptian tunic fragment from Matmar dated AD 395 – 642

Tapestry woven panel, purple, centre embroidered in chevrons with detached guilloche border enclosed in double lines. All embroidery worked in undyed wool. Attached to fragment of yellow woollen fabric. Probably portion of tunic.
