Ancient Egyptian tunic fragment from Mostagedda dated 30 BC – AD 395

A fragment of brown woollen tunic, fine plain weave, wefts well beaten up. There is a tapestry woven band of a floral design in red wool on a background of yellow wool. Part of another band is at the top. Two selvedges have been stitched together in red wool, which goes over the band. One edge is selvedge, formed of three groups of warp threads with five threads in each group and one side has cable edging.
