Ancient Egyptian tusk container from Badari dated 3500 – 3200 BC

Carved tusk, probably hippopotamus, one of a pair. With three bands of incised lines at spaced intervals around tusk and with hole on one side at broad end for suspension. Probably used as an amulet or magical/ritual container.
