Ancient Egyptian wall moulding fragment from Amarna dated 1550 – 1295 BC

Blue faience grape cluster fragment. Half of an oval with regular raised bumps across its convex surface. Flat backed. The glaze has come off this side, probably when broken from the other half, which was stuck to it to form a bunch. Part of the half remains, stuck to the top of this piece. Probably the back half of a grape cluster wall moulding. See 1925.46.25.a for a complete example. Fragments of modern paper adhere to the back of this, probably from an early twentieth century technique.
