Ancient Egyptian wall moulding from Amarna dated 1550 – 1295 BC

Blue faience grape cluster. Made from two oval moulded halves, each with one concave and one flat surface, joined together. The end result being somewhat egg like only with a regularly bumped surface. However to allow attachement to a wall etc. of one side of the egg is absent, creating a step in the object allowing it to be fixed to the wall. A hole is drilled through the top part of the upper half of the other half of the egg to allow attachment. Slight patches of surface discoloration.
