Wooden human hand, clenched into a fist. Protruding from the thumb side of the hand is the end of a handle of an ‘ankh’ or flail or roll of linen. Probably from an anthropoid coffin lid. Base is badly eaten away and worn through to the upper part in places, from insect damage or rot. Traces of white paint or plaster remain on the upper surface, and yellowed glaze or paint over this in places. There are traces of blue on the handle.
