Ancient Egyptian wool fragment from Faiyum dated AD 395 – 642

Square of woollen cloth, the edges folded over and stitched with alternating green, red and yellow wools. A border and small panels on the ground, of fine embroidery stitches, are in red and green. The border is blue and red with a blue wavy line with red dots between the waves. The two panels have a red line border and decoration in natural colour.
