Ancient Egyptian wool fragment from Hawara dated About AD 600

Plain woven fragment of mid blue coloured woollen cloth with woven decorative stripes. There are two red stripes, two red and green stripes and one yellow and brown stripe. There is a narrower stripe of red with a natural coloured linen line down the centre. The stripes are made with woven loops.
Plain woven blue warp and weft. There are ten warps and wefts per centimetre. The loops are eight twist coloured wool. Each loop is two ply thread and passes over three warps on reverse side and then forms a back stitch around one warp with a loop forming on the face side.
