Ancient Egyptian wool fragment from Hawara dated AD 500 – 599

A yellow woollen woven fabric, part of a tunic, with selvedge along one side and cable edging along another. There is a purple roundel with toothed edging. It is embroidered in natural coloured linen with a geometric design.
Plain woven with ten warp and 20 weft threads per centimetre. The embroidery is in slip stitch.
